Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She founded The Huffington Post, is the chief executive officer and co-founder of Thrive Global as well an writer of 15 novels. Arianna Huffington works as an writer, journalist, TV host, and owner of The Huffington Post. She moved to Greece to England when she was 16 years old, and received an MA in Economics from Cambridge University in Economics. At 21 she became head of the famous debate club The Cambridge Union' and was the first non-native student who was elected to this position. As a conservative syndicated blogger when she graduated, she was able to be the voice of Huffington Post. In part, her fame led to the recruitment of a variety of renowned contributors. Arianna was famous when she made the decision in 2003 to stand as an independent Candidate in the California Recall Election to replace the former governor Davis. In addition, she was also the leader of an initiative in Detroit initiative to promote fuel-efficient vehicles. Forbes placed her at 12 on their list of the Top influential women in the media. Guardian also included the HuffingtonPost in their top 100 list in 2010. AOL bought The Huffington Post from AOL in 2011. Then she was appointed the president of the media division at AOL. When she was 16 she moved back to United Kingdom to pursue her education and was enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. While in college she joined Cambridge Union, a college debating club. As the third woman president, and also the first foreigner she was the president of Cambridge Union. In 1972, she graduated with an MA in Economics. In the years following her degree she became a columnist, critic and a host on TV. In addition, along with Bernard Levin she appeared on the show Face the music.
