Lucy Liu was born in America. She is an American actress, a singer and voice-over artist. An attractive and intelligent actor, she is an example to many Asian actors who aspire to make it big in Hollywood. She gained fame after a number of popular early roles in the series. For instance, in her role in the Ally McBeal series, where she played Ling Woo the villainous character. After her success, she landed major roles for her in Shanghai Noon (1998) and Charlie's Angels (2000). She then delivered an amazing performance as Japanese criminal lord O'RenIshii, in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Volume 1. In this period, she played the lead in several flops at the box office including Rise: Blood Hunter. In animated films like Kung Fu Panda, Tinker Bell as well as others, she voiced prominent characters. Mia Mason's role on the small screen as a character in Cashmere Mafia did not produce the desired results. Southland is a critically acclaimed police show in which Liu appeared regularly played a part that has helped her regain her status as a renowned as an actress. Liu is extremely cautious when choosing her roles so that she does not become cast in a very competitive industry. She has accepted her Chinese roots however she has not let them restrict her creativity.
